  4. Fees for Distribution of Shareware Versions

  6. Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors and BBS(s) may have charged a nominal fee for 
  7. the distribution of this Shareware version of 1000MP. This fee does not constitute 
  8. payment for the Licensed version of 1000MP, and does not entitle the end user to use the 
  9. shareware version for longer than the 30 day evaluation period.

  12. Definition of Shareware

  14. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it. If you try a 
  15. Shareware program and continue using it, you are required to register it (or purchase the 
  16. licensed version as in the case of 1000MP).

  18. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and retail software, and the copyright holder 
  19. retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are 
  20. accomplished programmers, just like retail authors, and the programs are of comparable 
  21. quality. (In both cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in 
  22. the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy and distribute 
  23. the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group. For example, some authors 
  24. require written permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  26. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find software that 
  27. suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's retail or Shareware. The Shareware system 
  28. makes fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy. And because the 
  29. overhead is lower, prices are lower also. Shareware has the ultimate money-back 
  30. guarantee -- if you don't use the product, you don't pay for it.

  77. Installing 1000MP
  78.  
  79. Before you can use 1000MP you have to run the 1000MP setup program from Windows 
  80. so it will work properly on your computer. The files on the distribution disk are 
  81. compressed to save space. The setup program unpacks those files and builds them on 
  82. your working disk.

  84. 1) If Windows isn't running, start it now.
  85. 2) If installing from diskette, insert the 1000MP disk 1 into the appropriate floppy drive.
  86. 3) Run SETUP.EXE from the disk1.
  87. 5)  If you have downloaded 1000MP, unzip first files to a directory and run 
  88. SETUP.EXE.
  89. You can also install the 1000MP straight from e.g. Winzip.
  90. 6) Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

  95. In order to keep the size of the Shareware version of 1000MP reasonable, no printable 
  96. user's manual has been provided. You will find that help for ALL menu items and 
  97. associated dialog boxes, along with general information, is provided in the on-line help 
  98. system and at http://ntsat.oulu.fi/ft1000.htm.

  110. You are encouraged to pass a copy of the freeware version of 1000MP along to your 
  111. friends for evaluation.

  113. If you do so, you must provide them with the entire set of 1000MP freeware version files.

  115. Do not simply copy the files off your hard drive.1000MP must be installed using the 
  116. SETUP program or it will not function correctly!
